This Week In The Middle East: Assad Releases anti-Israeli Propaganda, International Community Calls For Cessation of Hostilities Against Israel

SPECIAL EDITION -- Friday -- Four Days Before Ramadan
This Week in the Middle East is a bi-weekly column edited by Revan Filiaexdeus regularly published on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We draw our information from a wide network of citizen reporters who are often the very ones fighting these conflicts. Our reporting aims to be as objective and fact-based as possible. The opinions expressed herein belong solely to the author.
A note on terminology: We refuse to use any such terms as "Islamic State", "the Caliphate", "ISIS", or "ISIL" when referring to the terror group. Instead, we use the derogatory term Daesh, an abbreviation from the transliterated Arabic. Additionally, we recognize all UN-recognized nationstates, a few micronations, and definitely Kurdistan.
This summary of the original statement released by the Bashar al-Assad regime has been provided by a translator with Zion Free Media. We affirm it's accuracy.
According to the official statement released by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) above, the Assad regime claimed to stop an Israeli missile strike "with fineness and great strategy." This occurred near dawn, local time.
The Israeli retaliatory attack against Iranian positions in Syria killed three SAA soldiers and injured two others.
The SAA says it "is ready to face any attack from the enemy."
(Golan Heights, Israel)
Earlier this week, Iran launched a provactive rocket attack against Israel. Only moments into editing this article for release, the SAA re-established control over the Babbila District south of Damascus, a hotpoint for contention over the past few weeks against both Daesh and Turkish-backed Syrian rebel groups.
The Golan Heights, Northeast of the Sea of Galilee in Israel, was placed under high alert by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and bomb shelters prepared directly prior to the Iranian attack
According to the IDF, 20 rockets had been launched at its forward posts in the Golan Heights by the Quds Force, the overseas operations arm of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. Sixteen fell short of their targets. Four were intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome defense grid. No Israelis were reported harmed.
Iran justified it's presence in Syria as support for Bashar al-Assad's regime. This follows shocking statements from Turkey's President Erdogan earlier this month calling for a pan-Islamic army to eradicate the State of Israel.
Turkish forces have been heavily reinforcing occupied Afrin as Erdogan continues his program of genocide against any and all Kurdish citizens.
Kurdistan continues to remain a strong supporter of Israel's right to both existence as a nationstate and self-defense.
Israel responded to Iran's aggression by wiping essentially all of Iran's military infrastructure inside Syrian borders. The international community led by a coalition of United States, British, French, and German forces soundly affirmed Israel's right to defend itself and placed the blame of aggression squarely upon Iran's proverbial shoulders.
Russia called for both countries to exercise restraint. Statements from Israeli officials indicate that the decisive action was a deescalation maneuver, while Iran "has deployed hundreds of troops, ostensibly as military advisers to the Syrian military. Thousands of militiamen armed, trained and financed by Iran have also been battling [Turkish-backed] rebel forces alongside [the SAA]."
Many of us here at Zion Free Media will be observing the spiritual fast of Ramadan. We choose to release these simple statements of scripture along with this special edition report.
