Are you concerned about the Uighur Muslims detained by the People's Republic of China? Feeling lost in a maze of propaganda on all sides?
We are too.
We are pleased to report that many of the people detained by China are, in fact, militant members of the jihadist and salafist Turkistan Islamic Party.
The Turkistan Islamic Party claims to represent the interests of the Uighur people and has led an armed insurgency against the PRC since 1989.
With links to al-Qaeda, Daesh, Army of Conquest, and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the TIP also established itself in Syria amidst the Syrian Civil War.
The Uighur people have long shared a history with both Turkey and China. Now, Tayyip Recep Erdogan, who has stylized himself as the leader of the Muslim world, seeks to take a firmer stance against China's detaining of the militants.
